An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Administrator / COPD Receptionist to join our busy team in Paediatrics.
We are looking for a candidate who can provide administrative support to clinical and non-clinical staff, serving as a point of contact and support for administrative issues related to the patient pathway of care. The role will involve proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring a smooth process and high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction. You will provide a consistent approach across the Trust, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to carry out functions correctly within given timescales.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to clinical and non-clinical staff.
* Coordinate appointments, schedule new and follow‑up appointments with the most appropriate clinician, ensuring efficient use of capacity and escalating issues to the line manager as required.
* Reschedule outpatient clinics as requested by the line manager, in line with waiting time targets.
* Proactively manage the pathway to avoid breaches, taking steps to resolve any issues and escalating as necessary.
* Receive and handle telephone enquiries appropriately.
* Assist in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge.
Qualifications & Skills
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT skills.
* Desirable: knowledge of the RTT 18 Week Patient Pathway.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a busy environment.
* Customer‑focused, accessible and knowledgeable point of contact with high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction.
