National Business Development Manager Social Housing

The National Business Development Manager role is a key position responsible for establishing, maintaining, and growing market share for PPG Architectural Coatings within the Social Housing Sector, delivering total coating solutions.
This role adopts a consultative selling approach, requiring exceptional networking, relationship-building, and contract management skills to maintain, secure, and grow the Social Housing Sector. A clear understanding of tender platforms and portals relevant to Social Housing is essential.
Direct management will focus on the Social Housing Sector, coordinating efforts with the Trade Direct team, providing guidance, coaching, and joint visits as needed.
You will oversee systems and processes to ensure growth in tender and trade Key Account Sectors, liaising internally and externally to meet customer expectations within PPG parameters, proposals, and schedules. A key part of this role is implementing this sector into our ClientLink CRM system.

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Develop and deliver an annual and quarterly business strategy for sustainable growth and increased market share.
2. Drive growth with existing social housing clients by engaging with them, understanding their needs, and exploring opportunities, collaborating with internal stakeholders.
3. Build a pipeline of new business through targeted tender submissions.
4. Formulate strategies for engaging regional clients in collaboration with the sales team.
5. Achieve personal and sector sales targets.
6. Secure project specifications nationally and regionally with targeted prospects.
7. Build relationships with Local Authorities and Housing Associations across the UK, working with the Trade Direct team.
8. Coordinate with Marketing to create initiatives that increase brand awareness and generate new business.
9. Become the UK expert on the social housing sector, understanding key stakeholders, procurement processes, and project pipelines.
10. Monitor sector performance via ClientLink and provide feedback to management.
11. Oversee tender processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
12. Maintain operational procedures related to the Decorating Allowance Scheme at store level.
13. Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders at a national level.
14. Represent PPG at conferences and events, demonstrating market credibility.
15. Provide market insights to inform future product development and strategic decisions.
16. Research and report on competitors to support strategic planning.
Requirements:
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
* Understanding of sales and procurement within the UK's Social Housing Sector.
* Commercial mindset with the ability to quickly learn company procedures.
* Strong report writing and presentation skills.
* IT literate.
* Ability to analyze and communicate information clearly under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Motivated to continually develop industry knowledge.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Willingness to travel for industry events and meetings.
