SEND Teacher – Specialist Provision | Havering & Thurrock

Protocol Education is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive specialist schools and alternative provisions across Havering and Thurrock, who are seeking committed SEND Teachers to join their teams. These settings support pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD and complex learning difficulties.

As a SEND Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Support pupils with a range of SEND including ASD, SEMH and complex needs
Create safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environments
Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, communication and engagement
Work closely with SENCOs, therapists, support staff and external professionals
Monitor student progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and target setting
Build positive relationships with pupils, families and multidisciplinary teams
Promote independence, confidence and positive learning outcomes for all students
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience working within SEND, SEMH or specialist educational settings
A strong understanding of inclusive teaching and differentiated learning approaches
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting students with additional needs
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
A genuine passion for SEND education and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
