What to Expect in the Role
As a Licensing Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the Licensing Team. Your workload will be varied and engaging: processing applications, maintaining accurate records, responding to enquiries, and ensuring compliance with legislation and Council policies. You will work closely with colleagues across the Council and external stakeholders, contributing to a high‑performing service that supports local businesses and protects public interests.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support for the processing of licensing applications, renewals and amendments in accordance with statutory requirements and Council procedures.
* Maintain accurate records and databases, ensuring timely updates and effective document management.
* Respond to enquiries from applicants, businesses, members of the public, parish councillors and councillors, offering clear guidance and excellent customer service.
What You’ll Need
* Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and customer service abilities, both written and verbal.
* Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive and flexible approach to supporting team priorities and service delivery.
