Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Acute Medicine
Have a wide knowledge base of common acute medical presentations Ability to undertake thorough patient history Competence in clinical examinations Have a thorough understanding of relevant diagnostics Knowledge of investigation interpretation, such as blood, x rays and ECGs Keep up to date with best clinical practice Safely prescribe treatments in line with national and local guidance and formularies Prepare accurate and concise reports Assist with the management of Trainee ACPs within acute medicine Provide leadership, supervision and education to nursing staff, colleagues and the wider medical team Support junior clinicians to plan and manage episodes of patient care Act as a role model for junior clinicians Practice in an autonomous, professional and self-directed manner Partake in audit, research and service development opportunities Partake in learning and educational opportunities in order to meet specific learning requirements Be willing to develop advanced clinical skills in procedures such as abdominal paracentesis, lumbar punctures and Focused Acute Medicine Ultrasound
