The Out-of-Hours Driver/Patient Support role involves driving leased, third‑party vehicles to transport doctors and other clinicians across Herefordshire, supporting the Out-of-Hours GP service.
The driver is also responsible for following Good Distribution Practice (GDP) SOPs while securely transporting drug bags from Nelson House (Taurus headquarters) to clinicians and for welcoming and booking patients at the primary care centre during weekend shifts. The driver may also assist the Team Leader with reception duties when required.

Responsibilities
* Collect and check the car‑pack, ensuring keys, phone and all necessary items are available and fit for purpose.
* Complete the vehicle inventory process to confirm all stock items are up to date.
* Report any vehicle damage or faults to the Team Leader and Operational Manager.
* Ensure consumables and oxygen equipment are in the vehicle, within expiry date, and replace any shortfalls.
* Securely hold medicine bags and equipment within the vehicle.
* Maintain accurate paper records of mileage and vehicle condition.
* Ensure the vehicle is clean, road‑worthy and has sufficient fuel; keep windscreen, lights and tyre pressure in good condition.
* Provide handover to the next driver or Team Leader, highlighting any relevant issues.
* Liaise with the breakdown company if the vehicle breaks down.
* Complete Falls training to support patients within the service.
