Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.
We are looking for a Mobile Fabric Engineer to join the Commercial Property Maintenance team on one of our projects in Essex.
The purpose of the role will be mobile role, so a full clean driving license is essential. Enhanced DBS Check is a mandatory requirement and will be arranged for the successful candidate. The role will also encompass, emergency site cover as required, and inclusion in the out of hours call out rota and you would report directly to the Senior Premises Manager.
Must have a ‘Can do’ attitude and ability to work under own initiative vital to this role along with a desire to deliver first class engineering and client satisfaction.
What you’ll do:
* To ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is carried out as determined by PPM plan, Helpdesk, and line manager.
* Minor Carpentry repairs to doors, door frames, windows and all over aspects of timber constructions and fixing of shelves and pictures and noticeboards.
* Carry out seasonal gritting to the estate as directed by the gritting plan within working hours, this may be required out of hours due to inclement weather.
* General labouring duties including school set-ups, pool maintenance, gutter/drain clearances as required, and ensuring that all areas within the confines of the site are free from litter.
* Preparing the school premises and site for assemblies, meetings and out of school activities and clearing up after these activities, providing support as required.
* Checking the operation of the heating plant so that the required temperatures are maintained in the premises and an adequate supply of hot water is available.
* To support school and comply with school-based procedures in the event of fire, flood, breaking and entering, accident or major damage.
* The routine and non-routine opening of premises and grounds. Responding to calls outside normal working hours as a result of break-ins etc. and/or the setting off of the burglar alarm(s).
* To assist with facilitating the day-to-day management of Sub-contractor activity on site.
* To be available for ongoing evening /weekend lettings / school events and have the flexibility to cover occasional lettings which may arise.
