Our client is looking for a Conference Production Assistant (Programme Assistant) intern to play an instrumental role in shaping and building a global conference programme, which delivers positive environmental and social impact, while also working directly with multiple key stakeholders such as the UN.

As the Conference Production Assistant (Programme Assistant) intern, you will be joining the team on a full time basis, working 5 days a week: 3 days in their office in Victoria, London and 2 days from home with an immediate start date. The salary range for these internships will be between £19k-23k dependent on the candidate.
We are looking for interns for a minimum of 3 months, with the opportunity for rising stars to join the team permanently. This internship is a great way to gain hands on experience within the climate change policy space.
About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate seeking a challenging but rewarding opportunity to play an instrumental role in shaping and building a global conference programme, which delivers positive environmental and social impact, while also working directly with multiple key stakeholders such as the UN. You will have the opportunity to build a good industry network and establish relationships with global climate leaders such as international Ministers of Environment and Senior UN Dignitaries.
The position is best suited to a self-motivated and confident individual who is passionate about the subject of sustainability, enjoys working as part of a team, solution-driven and works well under pressure with creative and proactive attitude. The Conference Production Assistant will report directly to the Programme Manager.
You will need excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and an ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines. You will need to have a proven track record of producing high quality work and display outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail. This role offers the selected candidate a clear path for potential career progression within the production division, and possibly other company divisions.
Key responsibilities and duties:
1. Identify and invite sector leaders and experts to speak
2. Meet event deadlines through confirming speakers and collecting presentations
3. Confirm speakers to meet production targets
4. Work closely with speakers to maintain relationships and collect all pre-event material
5. Being responsible for technical requirements such as checking PowerPoint presentations and/or videos
6. Assist with speaker briefings, queries and relationship management
7. Prepare copy for marketing communications when required
8. Prepare interview questions for speakers and sponsors when required
9. Support programme manager with general administrative duties
10. Helping ensure website, event app and conference programme are always up-to-date
11. Supporting the Programme Manager and operational team on-site, managing speakers, helping with room set-up, and event management (if applicable)
12. Industry research and competitor analysis of rival conferences and events (if applicable)
About You:
13. Educated to or actively working towards a degree level (preferably in sustainability, or a related subject)
14. Confident communications and influencing skills especially on the telephone
15. Excellent telephone etiquette, oral and written communication skills
16. Strong interest and/or understanding of climate change and sustainability
17. Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to multi-task effectively
18. Ability to build relationships
19. Flexible team player, with ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
20. Office experience and sound knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
21. Positive work ethic, can-do attitude, and plenty of initiative and willingness to learn
22. Proven ability to work well in a team but also initiative to work on your own
