ROLE: Assistant Conference Operations Manager
LOCATION: Coventry

The Role What Youll Be Doing
As Assistant Meeting & Events Manager, youll support the M&E Manager in leading the day-to-day operation of multiple event spaces.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Oversee the set-up, delivery and breakdown of meetings, conferences, banquets, private dinners and social events.
Lead, motivate and support a large Events & Banqueting team during live events.
Act as an operational contact for clients on the day ensuring all expectations are met and exceeded.
Check event sheets, briefs, function plans and room setups to ensure accuracy before guests arrive.
Conduct pre-event briefs to align the team on timings, responsibilities and service standards.
Maintain exceptional communication with kitchen, AV/tech support, F&B and the sales/events planning office.
Support the planning and execution of VIP events, exhibitions and complex multi-room bookings.
Ensure all H&S, licensing, fire safety and risk assessments are adhered to throughout event operations.
Contribute to rota planning, staffing levels and team scheduling.
Help drive service training, upskilling and team development.
Assist with stock management, equipment checks and ordering.
Respond to guest feedback and take initiative to resolve issues quickly and professionally.
Deputise for the Meetings & Events Manager in their absence.

What Youll Bring
Essential
Experience in Meetings & Events within a high-volume hotel, conference centre or large venue.
Proven ability to deliver a range of events conferences, banquets, dinners, weddings, or exhibitions.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
Confidence leading a team during busy or high-profile events.
A proactive, energetic and solution-focused approach.
A strong eye for detail and passion for excellent service standards.
Desirable
Experience with event management systems or hotel PMS.
Knowledge of AV requirements, banqueting service or large-scale event logistics.
Previous exposure to rota planning, staff development or operational scheduling.
Experience stepping into Duty Management.
