The Role (9 Month FTC November start)
Work closely with the Finance Director to support the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring data accuracy and reliability. Take responsibility for producing monthly management reports and compiling relevant documentation to support financial analysis and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
Deliver financial reports with clear, actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Ensure data accuracy through effective application of internal controls, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
Support the Finance Director with budgeting, monthly budget reviews, and year-end financial forecasting.
Oversee and validate the accuracy of monthly stock counts.
Collaborate with departmental managers to drive cost-saving initiatives, support continuous improvement efforts, and manage overheads.
Manage cashbook entries, perform bank reconciliations, and handle foreign currency transactions.
Provide financial support to global teams.
Assist in managing short-term cash flow forecasts and overall cash management processes.
Prepare statutory reports, including VAT returns, in line with regulatory deadlines.
Take on additional responsibilities as required, including participation in ad hoc projects.
Skills & Experience Required
Fully qualified or at the final stage of qualification with a globally recognised accounting body (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
Strong grasp of core financial management practices, including budgeting, accounting, and financial analysis.
In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, regulatory compliance, VAT, payroll, and related areas.
Advanced skills in financial reporting and data analysis.
Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
Highly organised with excellent time management and the ability to prioritise effectively.
Experience with Sage X3 is beneficial but not essential
