LOCATION: Salford (Hybrid- 3 x office days)
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £30,000-£40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Children's and Education are looking for an Assistant Producer to join the office team on the Bitesize Careers Tour to help deliver careers advice and inspiration to 110,000 secondary school pupils. The aim of this role is to help lead a small team in recruiting panellists from a variety of businesses across the UK to take part in our events. This role will also work closely with our partners at the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- The Assistant Producer will work closely with the Producer to recruit a diverse mix of panellists that reflect young audiences across the UK.
- Help devise and deliver content for secondary school audiences.
- Ensure editorial standards are met, production values kept high and that safeguarding procedures are followed.
- You will work closely with our partners at the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and ensure external relationships remain consistent and positive.
- You will work closely with our tour teams to ensure all parties have the relevant information, detail and deliverables for each event.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong interest in creating and delivering engaging educational content and events for secondary‑aged audiences, with high creativity and clear learning outcomes.
- Demonstrable understanding of TV, film and creative talent that resonates with young people, and how to design content that works for them.
- Commitment to diversity and reaching under‑served audiences; confident communicator able to build and manage relationships with schools, educators, businesses and partners.
- Proven experience applying BBC policies in practice, including editorial guidelines, working with children, and health & safety (including willingness to undertake a DBS check).
- Experience at Assistant Producer level in a broadcast environment, with strong planning, organisation, deadline delivery, and ability to lead, motivate and collaborate with small teams.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- This role may require some travel and working away from home. Therefore, a full and clean UK driving licence is desirable.
