Detailed job description and main responsibilities General Duties Adhere to good Customer service. Cash handling and the using of tills. Maintaining good hygiene practices within the department. Preparation of drinks and snacks to Brand standards Food preparation as required in the main production kitchen. Ensuring that foods are checked for suitability for special diets. Working within chilled areas and in wet environments. Able to accurately record and monitor temperatures to required frequencies. Washing of crockery and cutlery and catering utensils use industrial machines, also manually washing when required. Responsibility, for ensuring the high standards of cleanliness is maintained throughout the work area adhering to Trust Policies and Procedures. To carry out cleaning tasks, both specific and generic, to prescribed work schedules for designated areas, in line with Trust policies and procedures. Ensuring the correct and economical use of materials, provisions and equipment and seeking advice from Supervisor when in doubt. Report to you Team leader any mechanical defects and any equipment and any mishaps or untoward incidents Person specification Experience Essential criteria Able to carry out instructions and duties as detailed in the job description. Willingness to work towards achieving CIEH Level 2 in Food Safety and NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in support services and customer care Desirable criteria Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment. Catering experience CIEH Level 2 in Food Safety NVQ 2- support services, Customer care Communication and relationship skills Essential criteria Effective communication skills with all levels of public, staff and patients. Able to work in a busy environment Desirable criteria Have a good standard of the English language including both written and oral communication skills.
