A Vacancy at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We offer a relocation package of up to £8,000

The relocation package is available for those needing to relocate to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership. Terms and conditions apply; please see the attached document. If applicable, please mention this in your application for further discussion if invited to interview.

We have a rare opportunity to join our expanding Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (CAPT) team within Cheshire’s 0-18 Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS). This new role demonstrates CWP’s commitment to delivering innovative, psychoanalytically informed, evidence-based care for children, young people, and families.

This position is ideal for a band 8b CAPT, or band 8a CAPT aiming to develop clinical leadership skills and progress to a more senior grade with a development plan. (Applicants currently at band 7 with at least 2 years post-qualification experience may be considered for an 8a-8b development post). You will join following the successful launch of the Trust-wide Consultant CAPT, reflecting CWP’s dedication to developing its Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy workforce.

You must be a full member of the Association of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists to apply.

You will be a key member of our MDT, providing strong clinical leadership and collaborating with various mental health professionals. Your role involves delivering highly specialist psychoanalytic assessments and treatments for children and young people with severe and complex mental health issues, primarily based in one of our Cheshire CYPMHS 0-18 services. There are also opportunities to offer placements for trainee CAPTs, in partnership with the DChPsychPsych programme at NSCAP. Please see the full job description for details.

At CWP, we pride ourselves on our progressive approach to mental health care across all ages, providing opportunities for engagement in clinical networks, service development, evaluation, and research.

We offer:

1. Clinical and professional supervision
2. Ongoing professional development
3. A supportive working environment fostering service innovation and research

For more information, please contact Dr. Tim Smith at 01270 253841 or via email, or arrange an informal visit/discussion.
