Overview
PCB Layout Engineer. What you will be doing — You will develop and deliver complex PCB layouts across a wide range of technologies including multilayer, rigid flex, RF and high reliability designs. The work spans full lifecycle collaboration from initial technical requirements through to production ready layout. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and PCB suppliers to ensure designs meet electrical, mechanical, thermal and environmental requirements. You will support the development and adaptation of emerging technologies into high reliability applications while maintaining cost, quality and manufacturability targets. You will contribute to design reviews, support technical decision making and play a key role in knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team.
Responsibilities
Development and delivery of complex PCB layouts across multilayer, rigid flex, RF and high reliability designs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and PCB suppliers to ensure designs meet electrical, mechanical, thermal and environmental requirements. Support the integration of emerging technologies into high reliability applications while maintaining targets for cost, quality and manufacturability. Contribute to design reviews, support technical decision making and mentor team members.
Qualifications
* British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship
* Ability to obtain and pass BPSS checks
* Strong background in PCB layout for high reliability or complex electronic systems
* Experience in one or more areas such as RF, high speed, analogue, power, SI or EMC
* Good understanding of PCB fabrication processes including materials and stack ups
* Ability to work with engineering teams and influence design for manufacturability
Salary and rewards
Circa £55,000 depending on experience, plus company bonus up to £2,500, pension contributions up to 14%, paid overtime opportunity, flexi leave up to 15 days and relocation support where applicable.
Skills and experience
* Extensive PCB layout experience in complex or high reliability environments
* Strong understanding of PCB design best practice and layout constraints
* Experience working with RF, high speed, analogue or power domains
* Knowledge of signal integrity and EMC considerations
* Confident communicating with engineers and suppliers
* Ability to support design reviews and contribute to technical decisions
