Avon Local Medical Committee (LMC) is the statutory body representing and supporting General Practitioners and practice staff across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire. We work in close partnership with NHS England, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and other healthcare organisations to ensure patients receive high-quality care aligned with both local and national priorities.
Our services include providing expert guidance on GP contracts, NHS regulations, and policy matters. We advocate for practices on professional issues and are deeply committed to the education, training, and development of practice staff and partnerships across the area.
Health Care Trainer (Self-Employed)
We are seeking trainers to deliver a variety of courses tailored to general practice staff. You will only be expected to deliver sessions aligned with your specific area of expertise, which may be clinical or non-clinical subjects.
Training may be delivered virtually or in person, depending on requirements and course content.
This role involves:
• Designing, planning, and delivering high-quality, evidence based training tailored to General Practice staff.
• Ensuring all training aligns with relevant local, regional, and national guidance and meets any relevant standards.
• Demonstrates a proactive commitment to upholding quality standards, embraces constructive feedback, and shows flexibility and openness to change to meet evolving practice needs.
• Conducting assessments, offering feedback, and supporting the ongoing professional development of general practice staff.
We are looking to build a long-term working relationship with trainers who bring subject matter expertise and an understanding of BNSSG-specific processes and policies. This is a three-year contract with the potential to extend for an additional year.
Essential Criteria
• Qualification as relevant to the subject requirements (examples may include professional registration, university-level education, certification, extensive experience in subject)
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, policies, and governance standards specific to General Practice.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to assess learning needs and provide constructive feedback
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable Criteria
• Teaching qualification or certification
• Experience in planning, developing, and delivering training programmes to Health Care staff
• Familiarity with BNSSG-specific healthcare policies and procedures
