Support Academic and Personal Development: Build students' subject knowledge, confidence, and employability skills within health and social care contexts. Individualised Support: Contribute to personalised learning plans, working closely with teaching assistants and support staff. Prepare Students for the Future: Support pathways into further education, vocational qualifications, apprenticeships, or employment within the health and care sector. Monitor and Assess Progress: Track student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies to maximise engagement and achievement. Create a Safe and Inclusive Learning Environment: Foster positive behaviour, respect, and emotional safety in the classroom. Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with colleagues, pastoral teams, and external professionals to provide holistic support.Qualifications and Skills Required Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience teaching Health and Social Care at secondary level (KS3/KS4), including BTEC or vocational qualifications (desirable). Experience working within alternative provision, SEND, or SEMH settings (desirable). Strong understanding of how to adapt curriculum content to meet individual needs. Ability to build positive relationships and re-engage students who may have faced barriers to learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, resilience, and a flexible approach to teaching.
