Behaviour Buddies – Alternative Provision School, Wirral
An Alternative Provision school in Wallasey is dedicated to providing a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. The school’s mission is to help students overcome barriers, develop resilience, and achieve their full potential through tailored guidance and care.
As a behaviour buddy you will:
1. Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
2. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to develop and implement effective support plans
3. Implement trauma-informed practices to foster a safe and supportive learning space.
4. Delivering one-to-one and group support to help students manage behaviour and emotions effectively.
5. Building positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
6. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to develop and implement effective support plans.
7. Applying positive behaviour management strategies to help students overcome day-to-day challenges.
8. Motivating and guiding students towards both academic and personal goals.
9. Monitoring and recording progress, making adjustments to support plans when required.
Suitable applicants:
10. Experience and knowledge of ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences_
11. High levels of empathy, resilience, and patience.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. The ability to build meaningful relationships and manage challenging situations effectively.
14. A proactive, solution-focused, and positive approach to teamwork.
15. Wanting an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
