The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dynamic catering operation at NEXT Pontefract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, high-volume contract, delivering fresh, seasonal food to a large and diverse workforce across multiple dayparts.
You will play a key role in the preparation and delivery of high-quality food offerings, including breakfast, lunch, coffee shop service, tea shift, and night shift catering.
Key Responsibilities
• Menu Preparation: Prepare and deliver seasonal menus using fresh ingredients, demonstrating strong culinary craft skills.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, allergen management, and health & safety compliance at all times.
About You
• Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, or an experienced Commis Chef ready to take the next step
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and fresh food preparation
• Excellent understanding of food safety, allergens, and H&S regulations
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and a strong team-focused approach
