A leading consultancy is seeking a Principal EIA Planner to join its expanding Environmental and Planning team.
This role involves managing multidisciplinary projects, coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments, and providing strategic planning advice across a range of sectors and geographies.
Your new role
In this role you will need to:
* Lead and manage environmental planning projects with varying sensitivities
* Coordinate EIA delivery in line with UK legislation and policy
* Prepare and review EIA documentation from screening to Environmental Outcome Reports (EORs)
* Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance
* Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and planning authorities
* Drive team performance and improve delivery standards
* Support business development and cross-sell services
* Mentor junior staff and provide line management where applicable
* Ensure all work complies with legal, contractual, and organisational policies
What you'll need to succeed
* Degree in EIA, Planning, or related discipline
* Chartered membership of IEMA and/or MRTPI
* Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills
* Experience preparing fee proposals and contributing to bids
* Commercial awareness and stakeholder negotiation skills
* Proficiency in GIS and understanding of environmental technical disciplines
* Self-motivated, organised, and collaborative
* Full UK driving licence
