Street Lighting Engineer
, helping us maintain and improve lighting infrastructure across the county.
About the Role
As a Street Lighting Engineer, you will:
* Conduct on-site inspections and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of street lighting systems.
* Collaborate closely with fellow engineers and our term maintenance contractor to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards and to a consistently high quality.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and installations, reporting issues to relevant teams.
* Be flexible with working hours and locations, as the role may require work outside of standard hours and away from your designated base.
Key Requirements

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent planning, organisation, and IT capabilities.
* A proactive approach to contributing to technical developments within the council, the wider industry, and relevant professional bodies.
About Us
Street Lighting is a well-established and integral part of Warwickshire County Council's County Highways Service.
With an annual budget of approximately £6 million, our Street Lighting Team works in partnership with a term maintenance contractor to manage and maintain over 60,000 illuminated assets across Warwickshire. These include streetlights, illuminated bollards, traffic signs, and vehicle-activated signs.
The team also plays a key role in design work, collaborating with our in-house Design Services and external developers on Section 38 and Section 278 schemes, as well as supporting infrastructure projects related to HS2.
