Do you have experience as a KS1 SEN TA working with individuals who require additional support in an educational setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Step Teachers are working with a Primary School in Havering and are seeking a KS1 SEN TA to join a school that champions high aspirations and also contribute to raising the achievement of students. Please note this is a long-term role and it is expected to start in November 2024.
Key Responsibilities of a KS1 SEN TA:
Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, assisting with their educational and personal development.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence.
Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement tailored support plans for students with SEN.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports.
Requirements of a KS1 SEN TA:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN experience is essential.
A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential.
