This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils with complex learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and physical disabilities. As a SEN Teacher, you will take a lead role in planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive education, working closely with support staff, therapists, and families to help every pupil reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
Develop and implement personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets
Lead and support teaching assistants and support staff within the classroom
Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
Promote independence, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with therapists, external professionals, and families to ensure holistic support
Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, reports, and meetings
Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching children or young people with SEN, particularly those with complex needs
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching strategies
A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners
Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team
Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, during term time
