Health Care Support Worker - Medical Wards
Position at NHS Scotland, located at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Ward 27. This role supports the assessment, planning, and delivery of specialist care within a medical wards environment.
Reporting to the Senior Charge Nurse, the successful candidate will engage in a positive ward culture, support the clinical team and contribute to patient journey and experience using the Excellence in Care framework.
Shift pattern: 37 hours per week, rotational shifts (effective 1 April 2026 full‑time posts reduced to 36 hours). Employer: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
Key responsibilities:
* Support clinical assessment, planning, and delivery of specialist medical care.
* Engage in ward culture, teamwork, and support programmes of care.
* Work independently and with support of colleagues.
* Contribute to positive outcomes using the Excellence in Care framework.
Qualifications and experience:
* Current Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker experience within an NHS environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to be innovative and creative within organisational role.
