Salary: £16.00 per hour
Hours: 10 hours per week, spread over 2–3 days (flexible)
About Headway Kent
For more than 30 years, Headway Kent has been supporting adults across the county living with the effects of acquired brain injury (ABI). From community hubs and counselling to advocacy and outreach, we help people rebuild skills, regain confidence, and reconnect with their communities.
We are a small charity making a big difference—and now we need a detail-oriented and trustworthy Bookkeeper to help keep our finances running smoothly.
About the Role
This is a key role within our finance team, ensuring that our purchase and sales ledgers, invoices, and reconciliations are managed accurately and on time. You'll be working closely with our Finance Manager, providing essential support with transaction processing, month-end preparation, and financial administration.
If you are highly organised, good with numbers, and thrive in a busy but supportive environment, this could be the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing invoices, expenses, and payments in line with our financial systems.
* Overseeing staff expense claims, petty cash, and card purchases.
* Raising and sending sales invoices, tracking debtors, and posting receipts.
* Carrying out bank reconciliations and supporting payroll administration.
* Managing the finance inbox and liaising with staff, suppliers, and partners.
* Supporting the Finance Manager with reporting and month-end deadlines.
* What We're Looking For
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Experience with bookkeeping, including purchase ledger and sales ledger.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues and suppliers.
* A proactive approach and commitment to maintaining financial controls.
Why Work With Us?
By joining Headway Kent, you'll not only use your financial skills to support a well-respected local charity—you'll also be helping to change lives. Every accurate invoice and reconciled account helps us focus our resources on what matters most: supporting people with brain injuries and their families.
