Job Description
Are you a technically strong Architectural professional with advanced REVIT expertise? Join AECOM’s Architecture team in Manchester and contribute to the delivery of complex, high-quality design projects across a range of sectors.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technician / Technical Architect with a strong background in technical detailing and digital delivery. REVIT will be your primary daily tool, and a REVIT assessment will form part of the application process.
You will play a key role in producing and coordinating detailed design information, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accuracy, compliance and excellence in delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily production and coordination of models and drawings in REVIT
2. Preparing, reviewing and approving technical drawings
3. Liaising with design and drafting teams across disciplines
4. Delivering design packages of moderate to high complexity (with appropriate supervision)
5. Producing detailed drawings in line with project specifications and established standards
6. Preparing specifications, reports and supporting data tables
7. Undertaking material take-offs, measurements and area calculations directly from REVIT models
8. Reviewing and interpreting vendor, subcontractor and 3rd party designers documentation
9. Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, permits and discipline-specific standards
10. Using CDE platforms for document control and coordination
11. Marking up drawings using Adobe PDF and working confidently within Microsoft Office applications
About You
12. Significant experience in technical detailing within architecture
13. Advanced REVIT capability (essential)
14. AutoCAD knowledge (desirable)
15. Strong understanding of construction documentation and design standards
16. Confident interpreting technical specifications and instructions
17. Experience working within Common Data Environments (CDEs)
18. Detail-oriented with strong coordination skills
19. British National due to clients security requirements
Qualifications
MCIAT or CIAT Accreditation desirable.
You will also be required to obtain BPSS and SC clearance, if not already held previously.
20. Architectural technologist qualification and ideally certification through CIAT or similar registration board.
21. Proven related Architecture experience
22. Recent experience of having worked on High security, Government and/or Industrial commercial developments (SC clearance required)
