What the Job Involves The Senior Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer is responsible for assisting the Chief Contracts Lawyer by managing the legal work related to the Council’s functions. Responsibilities include overseeing a substantial personal caseload of complex contract work, managing and developing a Contracts Lawyer, providing legal advice and drafting, negotiating, and agreeing on complex legal documentation. Additional duties include attending council meetings to provide legal insights, maintaining comprehensive legal knowledge, meeting performance targets, and driving initiatives for positive cultural and procedural change while ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks.
