Full Time Medical Secretary – Solihull Hospital (Oral and Maxillofacial Department)
We're looking for a dedicated and organised Medical Secretary to join our friendly team at Solihull Hospital. If you have strong typing skills, experience in medical administration, and enjoy helping patients and clinicians, we'd love to hear from you.
We are looking for:
* Previous medical secretary and admin experience
* A calm, professional approach and strong attention to detail
* Confidence using IT systems and medical terminology
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and wants to make a real difference in patient care.
Main duties of the job
* Typing clinic letters, with speed and accuracy
* Supporting consultants and clinical teams with day‑to‑day administrative tasks
* Managing patient queries, appointments, and referrals
* Keeping records up to date and ensuring information is handled confidentially

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4
* Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a clerical environment
* AMSPAR Certificate/equivalent qualification or equivalent knowledge of medical terminology
Experience
* Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
* Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Experience of using IT systems
* Experience of working in a busy environment
* Experience of working in Healthcare
