Interim Financial Accountant
Salary: £350 per day
Contract: 6 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a collaborative and supportive finance team in London during a pivotal period of transformation and system implementation. What you'll do:
As an Interim Financial Accountant based in London, you will be at the heart of the finance function during a critical phase of change.
* Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision while supporting wider business transformation initiatives.
* Prepare comprehensive commentary on profit and loss reviews each month, focusing on specific cost categories to provide valuable insights.
* Oversee the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and preparing reconciliations for payroll, fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments.
* Manage the Fixed Asset Register by handling additions, disposals, depreciation recalculations, and ensuring schedules reconcile accurately to the general ledger.
* Supervise Accounts Payable activities including supplier account reconciliations, purchase order creation, and receipting to maintain robust financial controls.
* Assist with bank account reconciliations covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
* Review existing financial processes regularly to enhance internal control systems, developing detailed process notes and documentation for compliance purposes.
* Work effectively across two parallel ERP systems-Oracle Cloud Fusion and Microsoft Business Central
* Submit the monthly Debtor Scorecard with thorough analysis to the FP&A team to support informed decision-making.
* Participate actively in year-end audits by liaising with auditors and providing all necessary documentation promptly while responding to ad hoc requests from senior finance leaders.
What you bring:
* ACCA, CIMA or CPA qualified
* Demonstrated experience in financial accounting within FMCG or retail sectors. (essential)
* Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively across diverse teams and functions.
* Experience in ERP systems- Oracle Cloud Fusion and Microsoft Business Central (essential)
* Comprehensive understanding of accounts payable processes, general ledger management, fixed asset accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Track record of leading reconciliation processes with coordination or supervisory responsibilities over team members.
* Background supporting transformation projects or system implementations within complex organisations.
