About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our outstanding Children Care Leavers team as an Extended Personal Advisor. You will case hold up to 23 young people who you will offer support guidance and 1:1 support to in order to build their independent living skills, such as knowing how to pay bills, maintain a tenancy, how to gain education employment or training if they are not already established with this.
Working with Care Leavers can be challenging but hugely rewarding when you are able to support the positive changes and outcomes needed to thrive in life!
We work with looked after children and care leavers up to the age of 25, and the role of the Personal Advisor is key to building a long-lasting relationship with our care leavers as they take their steps into adulthood and independence.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:
1. Relevant paid or unpaid experience of working with young people and/or care leavers within a social care setting or similar.
2. Experience in providing targeted care and support for young with complex needs
3. To be able to organise and prioritise a busy caseload with competing demands
4. The ability to work with a range of professionals to ensure good outcomes for young people
5. Able to analyse information to reach sound decisions, often under pressure, and take responsibility for their outcome and regular reporting to the Team manager
6. Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
7. Knowledge of legislation, policy and guidance that relates to care leavers and how this can be used to ensure that their voices are heard and to improve their life chances.
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
In addition, we also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
