It includes a team of specialist teaching assistants, HLTAs, intervention tutors, a SEND administrator, and external partnerships with therapists, educational psychologists, and health professionals. As the SENCO, you will lead this department and oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of SEND support across the school. Key responsibilities include: • Leading the SEND strategy and ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice. • Managing EHCP processes, including reviews, assessments, and liaison with external agencies. • Overseeing targeted interventions, literacy and numeracy support, and personalised learning pathways. • Training teaching staff to deliver high-quality inclusive teaching. • Supporting families and maintaining strong home-school communication. • Working with safeguarding, pastoral teams, and leadership to ensure the holistic support of all learners. • Ensuring accurate provision mapping and SEND documentation. Requirements: • NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards it). • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice. • Experience supporting young people with a range of needs. • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. • Ability to inspire, motivate, and influence staff.
