Principal System Safety Engineer Luton
6-month contract
Paying up to £80p/h (Inside IR35)
Responsibilities :
Providing specialist safety advice to the SDA, to support their authorization of the Product safety, in accordance with Company processes
Ensuring that safety activities conducted on the Programme, within the scope of the TDP Systems, follow the plan described in the safety management plan and that the analysis is complete and correct.
Identifying and analysing intrinsic hazards, including mitigation to reduce the residual safety risks to an ALARP level for the ISANKE and ICS TDP system
Identifying and analysing functional hazards, including mitigation to reduce the residual safety risks to an ALARP level for the ISANKE and ICS TDP system
Eliciting ISANKE and ICS TDP safety requirements and flowing these down to the appropriate level
Reviewing individual TDP Subsystem System safety analysis and incorporating the outcomes in the integrated ISANKE and ICS analysis.
Review aircraft level safety analysis and ensure it aligns with ISANKE and ICS TDP Systems safety analysis
Documenting the integrated ISANKE and ICS TDP Systems safety assessment as described in the safety management plan.
Presenting a summary of the integrated ISANKE and ICS TDP Systems safety assessment at the ISANKE and ICS TDP Design Reviews.
Experience required:
Experience of safety analysis of complex systems in a safety-critical industry
A relevant STEM degree
Knowledge of lasers, radar systems, and/or sensors and defensive aids systems
Experience across a number of engineering lifecycle phases
Experience in leading and delivering a safety work package across multiple teams
Experience with ARP4754B, ARP4761A, RTCA DO-254, or DO-178C (not essential)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders of varying seniorities
