We are looking for an exceptional senior data analyst to join the Health Information Services team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping how data and insight support decision‑making across the Trust. Working closely with clinical, operational and senior leadership teams, you will transform complex healthcare data into clear, actionable intelligence that improves services and enhances patient outcomes. As a senior member of the team, you will act as a subject matter expert across a range of specialist areas, providing trusted analytical expertise and influencing the development of high‑quality reporting within the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR). You will help ensure that clinicians and managers have access to accurate, timely and meaningful information to support both strategic and operational decisions. Main duties of the job
* Deliver expert analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex healthcare information to support service improvement and informed decision-making
* Act as a subject matter expert within designated areas of the Health Information Services reporting portfolio
* Develop high-quality reports, dashboards and information products that enable clinical and operational teams to better understand and use their data
* Support the ongoing development and refinement of data capture within the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record system
* Provide specialist advice on data interpretation, benchmarking, performance metrics and analytical best practice
* Work collaboratively with clinicians, managers and operational teams to improve information literacy and encourage effective use of data
* Support the delivery of training and guidance on self‑service analytical tools and reporting solutions
* Contribute to projects and initiatives that improve data quality, integrity and usability across the Trust
* Ensure robust analytical standards, governance and methodologies are consistently applied in all areas of work
Analytical and technical responsibilities
* Analyse and interpret highly complex healthcare data from multiple sources to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
* Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences, including non-specialists
* Translate advanced statistical and analytical concepts into practical, accessible insight that supports decision‑making
* Produce reports, dashboards and performance information that drive action and support operational and clinical priorities
* Provide expert advice on benchmarking, performance reporting and the interpretation of healthcare data

* Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of analytical services across the Trust
* Identify opportunities to improve the capture, quality and effectiveness of data within the Electronic Patient Record

Person specification
Qualifications
* Educated to master’s degree level or relevant professional qualification or hold equivalent experience within an information or performance-related role
* Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
* Project management qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. Agile, PRINCE2)
* EPIC Cogito certification
Experience
* Undertaking complex information analysis, generating insights and making recommendations to improve clinical and operational services
* Identifying problems and devising solutions where no precedent exists
* Building structured datasets to enable a single source of truth for reporting and analysis
* Creating clear and actionable reports and dashboards in association with service users
* Training and supporting clinical and operational subject matter experts to use self‑service reporting tools
* Support the planning and delivery of complex information projects
Desirable criteria
* Experience of NHS acute and community reporting
* Using EPIC Electronic Patient Record
* Organising and processing feedback to enable continuous improvement in your performance
* Managing and coaching experience
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Extensive knowledge of NHS information and performance standards, practices and data flows
* Advanced Microsoft SQL query writing techniques and use of Microsoft Excel; knowledge of relational database architecture
* Analysing, interpreting and comparing highly complex data sets, benchmarking against national performance where possible
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex, confidential or conflicting information to non-technical audiences
* Contributing to project planning and formulation of strategies
* Adapting and improving information systems and data flows; ensuring high-quality data input and reporting
* Working with limited supervision within departmental policies; using initiative and flexibility to meet work demands
* Excellent inter-personal and negotiation skills

* Knowledge of current NHS issues and potential barriers to use of data for supporting change
* Developing and implementing training programmes
