Pharmaceutical Production Technician
** 18 month fixed term contract
Location: South Manchester

Hours: Days, Monday - Friday core hours between 7:00-17:00 (7-3, 8-4, 9-5 shifts available) *

Our client, a leading CRO, is looking to recruit a Pharmacy Assistant / Pharmaceutical Production Technician to join their state-of-the-art facility in Manchester. The site is MHRA and GMP accredited.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a cGMP environment (production or similar) and be seeking a role that offers further training in pharmacy studies, including Pharmacy Technician courses. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company with significant growth plans over the next 18 months.
The Role:
To play a key role in supporting the preparation, packaging, dispensing and quality control of pharmaceutical products:
• Environmental monitoring using settle & contact plates as required.
• Writing SOPs associated with the use of the Pharmacy- Production Area
• Attend training sessions as appropriate
• Preparation of Clinical Trail Investigational worksheet/s
• Performing drug manufacturing/ preparation activities
• Supporting with the validation of manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities in accordance with GMP requirements.
• Assist with preparation of pharmaceutical (pre and post QP) certification labelling.
• Assist with preparation of pharmaceutical product under the manufacturing licence to include completing Label printing worksheets, Batch Manufacturing records and labels.
• Completing material specifications for components as required, obtaining any relevant paperwork.
• Dispensing of drugs for study visits /assisting with disposal of study drugs and non-study drugs.
• Reviewing protocols and provide input with respect to pharmaceutical-product requirements.
• Preparation of study related paperwork including Pharmacy File generation
• Supply of stock items to the clinical area ensuring all medication is stored correctly.
• Assist the Senior Pharmacy staff in responding to audit findings
• Assisting with clinical trial phase, assisting Nurses with dosage count etc
• Adhering to strict QMS and H&S policies and following strict SOPs
The Person:
• The ideal applicant will have experience working in a GMP setting, working in production or similar settings.
• The ideal applicant will hold a Pharmacy Technician or Dispensing qualification (NVQ Level 2 or NVQ Level 3, GPhC accredited) However, for the right candidate, full training will be provided by the client.
• Strong interpersonal skills needed in this role, with a strong grasp of written/spoken English (essential for dosage checks/ reports) and be IT literate.
