We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Clinical Services to innovate our current clinical services in Scotland with new model(s) of rehabilitation provision for survivors of torture.
About The Role
This wide‑ranging position brings opportunities to redesign Freedom from Torture’s Scotland clinical rehabilitation service, ensuring change management leadership, policy development and system design.
* Lead, alongside the Associate Director, on innovating the current Scotland clinical rehabilitation service, providing change management leadership through transitions and designing, piloting and developing accompanying policies, protocols and systems.
* Develop partnerships to support our clinical offer and to explore income generation.
* Support the fundraising team to secure grants and ensure we deliver on commitments.
* Manage, coordinate, lead and develop the clinical services function of the Glasgow team – providing care coordination, pain management, evidence‑based therapies, welfare and legal advice, health assessments, and pain management; leading evidence‑based practice, clinical standards, quality initiatives and audit‑based services.
* Champion people development: work collaboratively with the Scotland team; encourage, develop and enhance skills of other staff within a supportive environment.
About You
* Registered psychologist with HCPC, an accredited psychological therapist (CBT or psychotherapy), registered nurse (mental health) or social worker, with professional experience working with clients with complex PTSD.
* Clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum.
* Experience successfully leading and influencing clinical teams within community or health care settings.
* Knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies, sound financial awareness and experience balancing quality care against budgetary parameters.
* High level commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery.
Contract Information

Freedom from Torture is committed to showing the salary for all advertised roles and not negotiating salaries for roles. Our policy is that all appointments will be at the start of the salary range but successful candidates will have the opportunity to move up the scale over time. The progression is reviewed on an annual basis and subject to affordability. For this role, the salary range for full‑time 35 hours is £68 735 – £79 732.
