We are currently recruiting for a Paediatric Dietitian. Being well supported by the band 7 Paediatric Dietitian, you will work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team to assess and treat children and young people with a range of nutritional and medical needs.
This role is extremely varied and includes ward-based in-patients, out-patient clinics, good multi-disciplinary team working and many opportunities for continued professional development and service development.
Main duties of the job
To deliver a high quality, evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetic Service to paediatric inpatients and outpatients for Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT).
To be responsible for providing specialist nutritional care, including assessment, dietary therapy/intervention and monitoring, for paediatric patients and their carers.
To work as an integral part of the Paediatric Dietetic Team and to act as an expert resource on paediatric nutrition, providing education and training to dietetic students and other health care professionals across the organisation.
Person specification
Education/Qualifications
* Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent and registered with HCPC
* Evidence of further postgraduate study e.g. paediatric course
Experience/Knowledge
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience working as Dietitian
* Experience of providing support to junior dietetic staff & student training
* Experience of working within the NHS
* Relevant recent acute paediatric dietetic experience
