Secure Network Consultant
Salary range: £45,000-£60,000
Location: Flexible with office, client work centered on the Southwest area; travel in UK and potential overseas.

Working pattern: Flexible hybrid: office, client sites, working from home.
Responsibilities
* Defining requirements, planning and managing network hardware maintenance/upgrades and patches.
* Vulnerability assessment and risk management planning.
* Implementation of network management tooling and systems.
* Network monitoring and diagnosing issues, identifying and resolving network incidents.
Essential Experience
Data Centre
* Familiarity with data centre health and safety protocols and understanding of design standards.
* Experience in data centre network design (CCNP), network infrastructure design (CNIDP) and creating rack layout designs.
Hardware
* Proven experience with Cisco routers and switches and network management/monitoring.
* Working knowledge of virtual machine environments and experience with Juniper devices.
Software
* Experience with Cisco IOS, proficiency in Linux operating systems and Windows Server environments.
Desirable Experience
* Ability to produce technical documentation (e.g., Visio diagrams, configuration change logs, high‑level designs).
* Project management skills: scope definition, timeline management, stakeholder engagement, and familiarity with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
* Effective communication skills for translating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
* Incident response capabilities, including task prioritisation and post‑incident reviews.
* Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence).
* Experience with firewall policies and zone‑based firewalls.
* Understanding of Zero Trust network principles.
