Head of Service – Responsive Repairs – Local Authority Client based in West of England
£659 PAYE – £850 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35)
37 hours per week
6 month ongoing contract
We are currently recruiting for a Head of Service – Responsive Repairs on behalf of a Local Authority client. This is a senior leadership position responsible for the delivery and ongoing improvement of responsive repairs and voids services across the Council’s housing stock.
The role will lead operational teams and contractors to ensure high-quality, customer-focused repairs services, whilst also contributing to the wider strategic direction of Housing Services.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of responsive repairs and empty homes (voids) service
* Oversee surveying, diagnostics, scheduling and operational performance
* Manage contractor performance to ensure quality, value and compliance
* Ensure properties are maintained to a safe and compliant standard
* Drive service improvement, efficiency and customer satisfaction
* Manage budgets and resources to meet financial and performance targets
* Work closely with senior stakeholders and elected members
* Contribute to wider Housing Service leadership and strategy
Requirements
* Extensive experience managing responsive repairs within a social housing environment
* Proven track record at a senior management or Head of Service level
* Strong contractor and performance management experience
* Experience managing budgets and delivering efficiencies
* Excellent stakeholder management skills within a public sector setting
* Strong leadership and team development capability
