BUSINESS AREA
Securities Services is a leading global custodian and securities services specialist that provides multi-asset post-trade and asset servicing solutions for buy and sell-side market participants, corporates and issuers.
The Fund Accounting Department has responsibility for a number of different functions inclusive of daily Net Asset Value (NAV) production, periodic oversight controls and production of statutory financial statements.
The Department provides such functions for a range of fund types including Investment Trust, UK Open Ended Investment Companies, Unit Trusts, UK administered Luxembourg SICAVs and life & pension funds.
The Transformation and Governance team are the gatekeepers of the governance and control framework for the department and are responsible for ensuring all risk documentation is maintained in line with internal procedures. They co-ordinate departmental audits and due diligence exercises and work closely with internal Operational Controls and Risk Teams.
They ensure there is adequate oversight of 3rd party service providers in line with regulatory requirements.
THE ROLE
The trainee will support oversight and governance tasks including production of MI and meeting decks.
They will allow the team the opportunity to review our use of governance data with a view to creating a data repository and streamlining MI for decision making using tools such as Power BI.
They will also support the department in a new initiative to migrate all control evidence to a dedicated digital tool, including data uploads and parallel testing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The core accountabilities of the role will evolve as experience grows. Training will be provided for all tasks and it is anticipated that the trainee will take responsibility for part of the task, with full support from the wider team. Gradually the trainee will begin to take full ownership of some tasks. There will also be opportunities to suggest and implement ways to improve each process.
Core accountabilities of the role will include:
Produce documentation and process flows to outline the control framework within the department
Retrieve and collate sample information for internal and external auditors
Support the testing and upload of control evidence into digital tool
Complete independent testing of control evidence and provide reporting on outcome
Complete control questionnaires to evidence our adherence to documented controls
Monitor timetable of governance requirements and help collate information to meet these requirements.
Production of scheduled packs to assist with meetings with external and internal stakeholders.
Complete Records of Governance to evidence stakeholder management
Assist with the collation of data and information on 3rd party relationships within the department
