Offer description

Role: Workshop Support Operative

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £26,984

Location: Access Plus - Bathgate Depot


Responsibilities:

* Assist Access engineers with maintenance tasks, including jet washing machines.
* Support the transport department with driving duties as needed.
* Liaise with Workshop Supervisor and engineers to prioritize waste disposal, including waste oil, scrap metal, and contaminated waste.
* Assist Workshop Engineers with general repairs and maintenance.
* Record meter readings and inform the workshop office.
* Coordinate with the admin team to ensure timely diesel orders.
* During winter, de-ice pathways and car parks to ensure safety.
* Maintain clean workshop aisles, including operating ride-on cleaning machines.
* Part-time driving to deliver and collect parts.
* Maintain spill kits and health and safety equipment in the workshop.
* Report safety concerns related to customers or engineers to line managers or safety team.


Qualifications and Skills:

* Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering.
* Forklift and IPAF operator's licenses.
* Knowledge of environmental and waste management.
* Flexible approach to work.
* Current and valid driving license (preferred but not essential).
* Knowledge of health and safety practices.


Working Hours and Benefits:

* Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 17:00
