As a social housing provider, of around 8,000 homes in Salford, one of our ambitions is to ensure that our customers live in warm, safe and well-maintained homes. Therefore, the safety of our customers is an absolute priority, and in recognition of this commitment, we are looking to expand our leadership team with the addition of a Director of Building Safety.
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and technically astute individual to lead our Building Safety agenda. As a specialist, you will act as the technical lead ensuring our portfolio of complex buildings are fully compliant with all current and emerging legislation, building on our strong progress to date.
This is a high-impact role, and you will be instrumental in safeguarding our customers and driving forward the building safety agenda.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and technically astute individual to lead our Building Safety agenda. As a specialist, you will act as the technical lead ensuring our portfolio of complex buildings are fully compliant with all current and emerging legislation, building on our strong progress to date.

Key Responsibilities
* Technical advice, acting as the organisation's technical expert, providing specialist advice on complex building safety issues, remedial works, and new developments
* Provision of strategic direction for building safety
* Ensuring regulatory compliance with all building safety and fire legislative requirements
* Effectively managing and mitigating risks
* Developing a positive performance culture
* Effective engagement with customers, partners and stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for an inclusive leader who can make a positive impact, reflect our values who has:
* Proven experience in leading and delivering building safety in a residential setting, managing risk, interpreting data and implementing systems to keep residents safe.
* Expert-level knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety Act, and associated regulations.
* A relevant technical qualification in a building, fire, or safety-related field (e.g., CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management, CIOB Level 6 Certificate in Fire Safety for Construction)
* Strong organisational skills with a track record of prioritising complex, high-risk work programmes to deadline
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently and empathetically with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
* Attention to detail, with excellent analytical, literacy and numeracy skills
