VANRATH are currently working with a leading manufacturing organisation who are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their finance team. What You'll Do
In this varied and hands-on role, you'll play a key part in ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time across multiple sites. Responsibilities will include:
9. Processing both monthly and bi-weekly payrolls within strict deadlines
10. Managing overtime and bonus payments, including calculations and approvals
11. Handling starters, leavers, pensions, student loans, and auto-enrolment updates
12. Maintaining and updating the Time & Attendance system
13. Preparing BACS files for payment release and reconciling credit card and expense transactions
14. Posting wages journals and reconciling payroll-related control accounts
15. Submitting accurate HMRC returns and staying current with all legislative updates
16. Producing payroll and headcount reports for internal stakeholders
17. Supporting audit and budgeting processes
18. Contributing to ongoing improvements in payroll systems and procedures
About You
This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll experience, looking to broaden their financial expertise within a fast-paced industry. We're looking for:
19. Proven experience processing UK payroll
20. Strong knowledge of PAYE, NIC, HMRC returns, and pensions
21. Proficiency in payroll software (Sage or similar) and advanced Excel skills
22. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
23. Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset
24. Finance or accounting-related qualification
25. ROI payroll experience
