Title: Quality Assurance Officer - Food Ingredients
Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (dependent upon experience) + benefits

The Quality Assurance Officer role is an office‑based role working with multiple departments including Production, Operations and Warehousing. This opportunity is well suited to a Food QA professional who wants to develop their experience into other product types and markets.

Role / Description
* Internal auditing of the production facilities to ensure regulatory compliance
* Respond to customer queries promptly, with timely completion of required documentation such as customer questionnaires
* Handle customer complaints, ensuring effective management through to completion
* Maintain and update product specifications for new and existing products
* Conduct supplier assurance and risk assessment evaluations
* Infrequent travel to supplier sites globally (realistically a maximum of 5 times a year)
* Liaise with multiple internal departments to translate complex information succinctly
* Support with external regulatory audits (e.g. BRC and FSA)
* Other quality assurance tasks as required to support the team.
Requirements
* Recent direct experience in Food Quality Assurance, in either a manufacturer or food ingredients distributor
* Proven recent experience leading or supporting BRC and FSA audits
* Degree‑level qualified (or equivalent) in Food Science or a closely related subject
* An obvious passion for food science and/or the wider food industry
* Excellent communication skills, possessing the ability to translate complex information
* Organised and process‑driven with high attention to detail
* Full, clean UK driving licence
