Purchasing Officer
£30,000 – £35,000 | Reports to: Commercial Director | Department: Purchasing
About the Role
A well-established project-led business is seeking a Purchasing Officer to support day-to-day procurement and inventory operations. This role is responsible for sourcing materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining accurate purchasing records, and managing monthly stock takes.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone organised, detail-driven, and commercially aware.
Key Responsibilities
Procure goods and services in line with approved budgets
Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery
Raise and manage purchase orders
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any delivery or quality issues
Conduct and reconcile monthly stock takes, investigating discrepancies
Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records
Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies
Requirements
Experience in a purchasing or procurement role
Experience with stock control and inventory reconciliation
Proficient in purchasing systems and Microsoft Office
Strong negotiation and analytical skills
High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
Clear and professional communication skills
