Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support to an individual living in Swanage who now requires 24/7 support We are seeking a new member of the team to provide support overnight from 9pm Thursdays to 9am Friday and every other Sunday from 9pm to 8am. With additional shifts available when cover is required for other members of the team.
Duties
* Provide personal care assistance, including washing, dressing, pad changes etc.
* Support clients with mobility and transfers,
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with specific challenges.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
* Document client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in mental health caregiving or related fields such as senior care, hospice care, or childcare is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of first aid is an advantage.
* Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia is beneficial.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. .
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
