Location: TelfordSalary: c. £28,700 + overtime (as available)Shifts: Rotating days 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 Permanent | 37 hours per weekDo you have an Engineering Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3? Are looking to build a career in toolmaking and advanced manufacturing?A global automotive engineering business is expanding its Telford facility and is offering an excellent opportunity for a Tooling Technician to join the team and learn a highly skilled toolmaking trade.Working alongside experienced Toolmakers and Engineers, you'll gain hands-on experience in a modern toolroom environment supporting automation projects, casting die tooling and press tooling improvements.The role:
* Supporting the build of jigs, fixtures and assembly tooling
* Assisting with casting die disassembly, cleaning, preparation and reassembly
* Helping with tool fitting, polishing and bench work
* Preparing and organising materials and tooling for projects
* Operating manual workshop machines (lathes, mills, grinders and saws) under supervision
* Reading engineering drawings and CAD data
* Supporting die spotting activities including blue spot reading
* Assisting with mechanical installation tasks on automation and robotic assembly equipment
The person:
* Engineering Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 qualified
* Some hands-on workshop or manufacturing experience
* Interest in developing a career in toolmaking or manufacturing engineering
* Basic understanding of mechanical tools or workshop equipment
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced engineers
Desirable:
* Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Basic machining or mechanical fitting experience
* FLT or overhead crane experience (training available)
