Deputy Clerk – Full TimeA new opportunity has arisen for the role of Deputy Clerk to Hellesdon Parish Council. We are looking for someone with strong financial knowledge who is a good team player, takes pride in their own work and enjoys working with members of the public. Knowledge of working within a local authority or voluntary sector organisation would be preferred, but full training will be given to the right candidate. Duties include, but not limited to:Preparation for council/committee meetingsDeputising for the Clerk to the CouncilServing of council / committee meetingsCheck all invoices received for the councilInputting of receipts and paymentsMonitoring income and expenditure against budgetReconciliation of bank accountsPolite and courteous customer serviceUnderstanding the running of community facilitiesInspection, Maintenance and Repair of Parish AssetsRegular finance reportsWriting reports and information provision for councillorsUpdating of the website and social mediaLine management of admin staffProject work and obtaining best value for the councilDriving licence essentialHours: Full Time (37 hours per week) Pay: SCP 18 (currently £31,537 per annum – with 2026 pay award pending) – SCP 25 (currently £36,363)Location:Diamond Jubilee Lodge (but would be expected to travel locally) This is an office based role.
