Project Controls - Senior Planner

Location: Manchester, England
Employment: Permanent, Full-time with flexible core hours
Responsibilities
* Undertake rolling wave planning and resource loading for assigned project scopes
* Utilise team inputs to create and track plans and schedules, perform risk exploration
* Responsible for detailed schedule exploration of network logic and critical path
* Work with cross‑functional program teams to resolve critical path and network conflicts
* Perform what‑if scenarios for employee program management teams
* Perform schedule variance exploration by comparing baseline to schedule
* Perform earned value exploration in support of assigned programs or projects
* Ensure management understands network logic, Gantt charts, milestone lists, and resource information
* Develop and maintain scheduling procedures for assigned programs
* Utilise Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas
* Ensure major project and program schedules and plans are integrated across finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality teams
Experience
* Previous experience on major projects and ability to support multiple live projects, including tender programmes
* Experience in project controls with a focus on planning, preferably within a consultancy
* Experience with Primavera P6; additional knowledge of Asta Powerproject and MSP is beneficial
* Strong Excel competence to produce dashboards and data visualisation for P6 programmes
Qualifications
* HNC, HND or degree in quantity surveying, cost management, construction law, or a related discipline
* Alternative background such as engineering may also be considered
* Professional qualifications or membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or another relevant Chartered Institute are desirable and will be supported if not already attained
