EXPERIENCED GP RECEPTIONIST/ADMINISTRATOR
It is the duty of each Receptionist to assist in thesmooth running of the Practice in general, working within the Reception area. Toproject a positive and friendly image to our patients and other professionalswho may contact us either in person or via the telephone.
Main duties of the job
Good communication skills both written and verbal. knowledge of Systmone computer software. Positive Attitude
Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to deliver a caring and efficient reception service.
Good Team WorkerGood standard of computer Literacy
Flexible to working pattern as changes may need to be made at short notice.
Willingness to provide holiday and sickness cover when needed
About us
We are a small practice with approximately 4200 patients based in the Marsh area of Huddersfield. Our team includes 2 GPs, ANP, Practice Nurse, 2 HCAs and our Admin & Reception Team.
Job responsibilities
Answering all incomingtelephone calls. Diverting them as appropriate and/or taking and passing onmessages.
Dealing with all telephonequeries/requests from patients and acting as liaison to other staff members andprofessionals.
Making appointments via thecomputerised system
Greeting patients atreception, noting their arrival and dealing with any query or request asappropriate.
Supporting and assisting theDoctors and Nurses during surgery times as required.
Liaising with secondary careproviders and arranging transport as necessary.
Dealing with repeatprescription requests.
Assisting patients withregistrations and processing the paperwork.
Filing all patientinformation in electronic record and/or paper records.
Maintaining patientelectronic medical record. Accessing information when required.
Daily preparation of the Doctorsand Nurses clinical rooms.
Ensuring Doctors surgeriesare stocked with the necessary paperwork and forms to enable their surgeries toproceed without interruption.
Maintaining and encouragingadequate security measure, ensuring all clinic rooms are locked when not inuse.
Liaising with attached staff,including Health Visitors, District Nurses, Midwives, Counsellors etc asrequired.
Supporting and encouragingother members of the Practice Team.
Maintaining the Health andSafety of all staff, patients and visitors.
Any other duties requested bythe Doctors and Practice Manager.
Name badges are to be worn atall times.
Cover for Reception TeamMembers as and when required.
Unlocking and lockingup of surgery premises
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Preferably knowledge of working in a General Practice Reception team
* IT Literate including knowledge of Systmone computer systems
