Some freelance roles are there to fill a gap. This one is because the project genuinely needs someone strong enough to lead it. A leading Tier 1 contractor has secured a major AMP8 water scheme in the Oxfordshire region and is looking for a MEICA Lead to take ownership of delivery across a complex live project environment. They’re looking for someone who can do more than sit in progress meetings and update spreadsheets. They need somebody who understands how MEICA packages actually come together on site and someone comfortable managing technical issues, driving subcontractors, coordinating commissioning activities, and keeping momentum when programmes tighten up. You’ll be heavily involved from delivery through to completion, working alongside senior operational teams on one of the region’s key AMP8 projects.
The Role
* Lead MEICA delivery on a major live project
* Manage subcontractors, specialist suppliers, and installation teams
* Drive programme, procurement, and commissioning activities
* Coordinate across design, civils, and operational stakeholders
* Identify risks early and keep delivery moving
* Maintain high standards around safety, quality, and compliance
* Act as a key technical and delivery contact for the client team
What They’re Looking For
You may currently be working as a:
* MEICA Manager
* Senior MEICA Engineer
* Electrical Project Manager
* Mechanical Project Manager
* Delivery Manager with strong MEICA experience
What matters is your ability to lead from the front and manage complex project interfaces confidently.
Ideal Background
* Strong water sector experience (clean or wastewater)
* Mechanical, Electrical, or ICA background
* Experience delivering projects through installation & commissioning
* Strong understanding of programme and subcontractor management
* Ability to operate comfortably within a Tier 1 delivery environment
* SMSTS / CSCS / Full UK Driving Licence
