Job Description:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, quality-minded individual to join our Quality Control/Quality Assurance team based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will ideally have a science degree or pharmacy background, a good eye for detail, and an ability to work accurately.
Primarily, you will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring the environment in our licensed Radiopharmacy Unit, producing environmental monitoring reports, and liaising with departmental leads. You will act as pre-releaser for products manufactured under the 'specials' license of our production unit and play a key role in ensuring all units within Pharmacy Technical Services are compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Experience in working within a quality control laboratory or a hospital pharmacy aseptic manufacturing environment would be advantageous. However, candidates interested in hospital pharmacy quality assurance roles within aseptics are encouraged to apply.
We support staff development through full in-house training and funded personal development opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Contributing to the quality control service, which carries out over 50,000 environmental monitoring tests, analyzes over 200 products and raw materials, and conducts over 2,000 operator and process validations annually.
2. Assisting the QC Laboratory Manager and QA Lead in ensuring GMP compliance within Pharmacy Technical Services Units.
3. Communicating effectively with teams across Quality Control, Parenteral Services Unit, Pharmacy Production, Radiopharmacy, Regional Quality Control Laboratory, ward staff, and external contractors.
4. Continuously developing own skills and contributing to team development.
